Christmas Tree disposal/composting

Please see below the message from our vendor in regards to the disposal of Christmas trees come January. Thank you.
This notice is to inform you that while your Christmas tree may be compostable, the collection bins at your property are not a disposal option for this material. The capacity of your program is determined based on the standard kitchen waste requirements and does not account for large individual items like Christmas trees.
Luckily, the City of Calgary has setup a number of convenient drop-off locations which are an appropriate disposal location for your tree. Please contact 3-1-1 or visit their website for all of the details:
